Annie Get Your Gun at Fulton Theatre
One of my favorite qualities of theater is the collaboration. The amount of people involved varies but it always requires an assortment of individuals coming together with a common goal, an entertaining show. Annie Get Your Gun is a remarkable representation of this quality.
As you enter the Fulton, the energy is high. Acrobats and circus performers are throughout the lobby and on stage. When the show opens with “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” you cannot help but be dazzled. You sing along with Frank Butler (Curt Dale Clark) and try to absorb all of the dancing and acrobatics. It is impossible to not be drawn in within the first 5 minutes.
Throughout the show, Frank (Curt Dale Clark), Dolly (Kathy Voytko), and Annie (Heidi Kettenring) have beautiful moments that showcase their exemplary vocal abilities. They all made me mouth’ “WOW,” at different points in the show.
The ensemble impressed me just as much as the leads. Stating they are multitalented is an understatement. They sang, danced, did acrobatics (both on the ground and in the air!), ran into the audience, played instruments, and did who knows how much more that I did not see. Everyone involved put forth abundant amounts of energy and effort. It does not go unnoticed.
The show completely captivated me. I sang and danced along. I laughed countless times. The entire cast and crew gives you an experience you will never forget. Annie Get Your Gun is performing now thru February 19th. For tickets and show information visit www.thefulton.org or call the box office at 717-397-7425.
