My husband and I enjoy any and all ethnic food and LOVE that Lancaster has so many wonderful offerings for our multi-cultural tastebuds. Our 18-month old son loves spices unusual to American cooking as well; perhaps it has something to do with all the yummy ethnic foods I ate while pregnant with him! We got married in St. Lucia and liked the local fare so much that I bought a cookbook chock full of St. Lucian recipes – delicious. This would be a FANTASTIC prize to win. Then again, they all are! :)

I loved the Taste the World tour that I was able to participate in, and I’m sure that the coupon book is just as wonderful!

Love trying food from different cultures! So far Mexican is our favorite- cocina mexicana, our favorite of our favorites! : ) Would like to expand our kids experiences even more….

This is a fantastic cause – and opportunity for all of us to enjoy flavors that may be outside our “norm.” I remember teachers during my childhood who encouraged us to taste flavors of other cultures! Sure those experiences influenced my palate today!

As for out of the US experiences … Sadly none for years! :-(

Barbara Searles added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

My KIDS love Kids and Cultures! Me too! What a great prize!

Brenda Keller added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

My daughter loved Kids & Cultures camp – it’s a GREAT organization and we would love to taste the world with the coupon book. Traveling the world would be nice too.

We have seen the Kids & Cultures events advertised but were never able to make them. Our two older children enjoy trying new foods and enjoyed sampling the local delicacies when we traveled to Grand Cayman a few years ago. Now we have a toddler who is open to new tastes and will try anything–this coupon book would be a fun way to give him some new food experiences.

Elaine added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

My family just moved to Lancaster from NYC, and we are blown away that there is so much diversity here! The food i’ve been able to try has been an amazing blend of local ingredients and flavors from all over the world that only seems possible in Lancaster. We would love to learn about new restaurants, and explore options on our limited budget.

Kate added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

What a great idea! everyone should have the oppotunity to try new ethnic foods. My little sister would love this book (and so would I!)

brighid added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

Wow! What a great giveaway. I love that Lancaster has so many great ethnic restaurants – we are so fortunate to have that sort of diversity. For years I was a picky eater, but I’m discovering that my taste buds love different tastes, spices, and foods. I’m rather proud of how adventurous I’ve become with eating! My husband and I have eaten at many of the ethnic restaurants downtown, but we’re always looking to explore new places and tastes.

I’ve been disappointed that we’ve didn’t do the kids and cultures tour, so the coupon book is a perfect idea!

Roberta added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

Great Idea! I cant think of a better way to introduce people to an eclectic mix of cultures and also promote the local businesses

amy thomas added this opinion on Dec 17, 2009

Great idea. If I don’t win, I’m certainly going to buy one. Although I’m not sure if I’ll let the kids have any of it.

What a wonderful giveaway! These books would make great Christmas gifts. One of my favorite local restaurant’s that serves authentic Mexican food is Herby’s El Mexicano. The owners and all the staff are all from Mexico. The owners and staff are all very friendly, kind, and courteous. The food is delicious!

Connie added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

I went to Mexico for a missions trip back in Highschool and was amazed at how good real Mexican food is! It takes a lot to really authentically reproduce the flavor of foreign food but when done right it’s amazing!

Ben added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

We loved all the new ethnic discoveries we made along the previous Taste the World tour.. it would be great to keep making/enjoying those kind of discoveries all year!

I’m a fan of Kids and Cultures from way back…to the time of “rolly polly rice balls.” My family is very adventuresome in trying new foods. I look forward to experiencing one of the Taste of the World Tours.

Vicki Becker added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

I have yet to try an ethnic cuisine that I DON”T like! We are a multi-ethnic family and I enjoy taking my kids to try all kinds of food. We are very thankful to find so many opportunities locally. Thanks for a chance to win! :-)

My two small children enjoy the programs offered with Kids and Culture and we hope to get more involved. As one of the nations who you can visit it truely makes them feel included and gives them a chance to learn about other cultures. Thanks so much for all you do!

Sharon added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

What better way to enjoy downtown Lancaster and get a ‘taste’ of another country! Always good . . . and make sure you purchase some coupon books for stocking stuffers! Thanks for making Lancaster . . . and the world . . . a better place!

Dave B. added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

I’m glad you have to coupon books because I was unable to do either of the two Taste the World Tour events that you hosted this year. You have inspired me to do a little touring on my own. So far, Spyro Gyro is my favorite downtown restaurant. Then comes Isaac’s. Does Isaac’s count since they have exotic bird names on the menu? The best Italian food I ever ate was in Milan, Italy. Nothing in the US has ever come close to what my tastebuds savored over there.

Margaret added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

we loved the treats we got on the taste the world evening – can’t wait to try more yummy food right here in Lancaster. The photos for the coupon book make me hungry :)

What a wonderful way to learn about the foods of other countries! Thanks for making this happen!

Susan Nenstiel added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

Would love to travel through Europe and experience the flavors…
Until that day comes, I am quite happy to be living in Lancaster and enjoying all of the cuisines and cultures we have here! There’s so much right in our own back yard!!!!

:-)

Sandi Mauer added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

I have been enjoying various ethnic foods since a small child, and my taste buds first went wow! with Somali injera and watt, which is also an Ethiopian food. Perhaps next year the new Ethiopian restaurant could become part of a coupon book. They aren’t quite downtown Lancaster so can’t be part of a walking and tasting tour of Lancaster. I love to travel and try foods of different cultures, and since funds are in short supply right now, I am so grateful to Kids and Cultures for helping me “visit” and experience food from different countries right in Lancaster.

I need to find some of these little jewels in Lancaster. Our boys love ethnic food.

Cindy added this opinion on Dec 18, 2009

What a joy to find so many others that enjoy other cultures also. I think if I could I would visit every country in the world…so far I’ve been in 11 and head to Kenya in Feb…I love bringing things to the children here, to pass on the passion…
