Win a $50 Gift Certificate to a Great Lancaster Restaurant

This contest is closed. We’ll announce our winner shortly!

This time around we’re teaming up with three of Lancaster’s best restaurants in town for a Per-Fig Pairing competition and your chance to win. Our last winner, Karen Ulery, won a gift certificate to Annie Bailey’s. This time around you can win:

A $50 gift certificate for either:

The Belvedere Inn or Gibraltar.

We’ll tell you how to enter to win in a bit, but first, we asked the chefs of these three fine eateries to come up with their “per-fig pairing” of food and a cocktail. Between now and the end of March, you can try them out and vote on your favorite. The winning combos will be announced Friday, April 2nd at Fig Central. Here is what they came up with:

Belvedere – Chef:  Steve Drake

Meal: Moroccan Braised Lamb Shank with Dried Fig and Apricot. Served over tangerine risotto, roasted eggplant and topped with candied ginger.

Cocktail: Fig Bellini

Annie Bailey’s – Chef:  Tyler Rice

Meal: Szechuan Pepper Seared Tenderloin of Wild Boar served with Fig Hoisin Glaze, Black Truffle Potato Gratin, Brown Buttered Carrot, and a Chambord Black Current Gastrique.

But, now we want to give you a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to one of these restaurants to try out the “per-fig pairing” or meal of your choice, and here is all you need to do:

Leave a comment here on this blog entry below. Perhaps tell us about the best meal you’ve had at a Downtown eatery, or even tell us which restaurant is your favorite, but the only way to enter to win is by leaving a comment.

Due to changes in how Facebook administers contests and promotions we will no longer be using our Facebook page as an official part of the contest. However, here are a few things you can do to help us out (but they aren’t requirements for entry):

  • If you’re on Facebook, share this and tell others about the contest. You can visit our Facebook page and become a “fan.”
  • If you’re on Twitter, we would love for you to follow us @FigLancaster and retweet about this contest when we send it out there.

This contest runs until 3pm Saturday (2/27) so make sure you enter and tell your friends!

And remember, if you’ve won something from us in the last 30 days, you aren’t eligible to win again until that time period is up! But feel free to help us spread the word anyhow.

I love the tasty variety of food from around the world, all in downtown Lancaster!

I have always wanted to try the food at Gibraltar, but I’ve never had the opportunity to do so. Lancaster offers so many chances for great food and I’ve loved everything I’ve ever eaten at Prince St. Cafe, Pemberley Teashop, and Lily’s on James.

Annie Bailey’s has got the best dessert! Their bread pudding with the Jameson reduction is absolutely awesome!!!

All the restaurants are great- Gibraltar being my favorite- but I have to hand it to Fig for getting them to exercise their creativity and think beyond their menus.

So many great places to eat in downtown Lancaster! We’re very lucky to have such outstanding choices.

Julie added this opinion on Feb 25, 2010

The last time I ate at the Belvedere it was the Harmony. You have to love Lancaster’s selection of eateries. When we go out it’s hard to decide, Dipco, Characters, Iron Hill, etc.

Rich Goss added this opinion on Feb 25, 2010

These are all great restaraunts, but lately I must agree that Fenz is my favorite. I’m definitely a carnivor, but the vegeterian menu at Fenz is unparalleled. I just can’t resist skipping the meat sometimes — and it keeps my veggie friends smiling too
Plus a stellar staff.
