Did you know that Downtown Lancaster has one of only two Mounted Patrol squads in the state of Pennsylvania?  Pretty special.

Duke, Lancaster’s oldest equestrian ambassador, is recovering from emergency surgery. While police officers are supported by the city budget, Duke and our Lancaster City Mounted Patrol horses are completely funded through donations. The surgery costs were unexpected and they need our help.

Join Fig and the Penn Square Grille in contributing to the non-profit Lancaster City Police Foundation. Half of the proceeds of each ‘Duke’s Julep’ will help keep Duke and our officers riding.

‘Duke’s Julep’ will be served exclusivley at Penn Square Grille until Derby Day, May 1, 2010.

Duke UPDATE:  Duke is doing great!  He’s out of his stall and moving around well.  Hopes to be back on the street later this spring…..
