Win Two Tickets to attend OperaLancaster’s World Premiere of Georgia O’Keeffe: A Woman on Paper
Fig is joining with OperaLancaster to offer two tickets to see the World Premiere of this wonderful new musical:
Georgia O’Keeffe: A Woman on Paper.
The show runs from September 16 – 19 at Franklin & Marshall College’s Roschel Performing Arts Center. Our giveaway tickets are for opening night, Thursday September 16 at 8:00 pm.
This innovative musical evokes the colorful and sensuous world of O’Keeffe’s imagination with a succession of episodes from her life as a pioneering female artist. Colors are embodied by a chorus, flowers dance out of paintings, a cow skull sings, and a love story unfolds. Our guide through this dramatic journey is old Georgia herself, who reminisces from the top of a New Mexico mountain, the subject of many of her later paintings. Her memories of the roaring 20s art scene in New York City, with its charged creative atmosphere and captivating characters, are vivid; central to this world is Alfred Steiglitz, photographer and impresario, who sweeps O’Keeffe off her feet. As the story unfolds, leads, ensemble, dancers and orchestra will draw you into this compelling, captivating, and often comedic portrayal of an American original.
This production is a great mix of art, music, and theater…all things which are at the heart of what makes Lancaster such a wonderful place. Tickets are available at Fig Central (5 West King Street) or through OperaLancaster.
Here is your chance to win two tickets to this wonderful event (value of $70). All you have to do is leave a comment here on our blog. And remember, if you’ve won something from us in the last 30 days, you aren’t eligible to win again until that time period is up! But feel free to help us spread the word anyhow.

I loved watching a film documentary about O’Keeffe. She was simply a phenomenal woman who gave me inspiration in her feminine drive, spirit, and zest for rights.
So excited about this new production! Thanks to OperaLancaster and Fig for premiering it!
I was able to catch the preview (in August) and loved it! I would love to see the whole thing… Kudos to Alisa and the entire ensemble!
Anyone else who’s not a big fan of opera, you’ll be glad (as I was) to learn that this production is a musical, not an opera.
I enjoyed the preview!
I love taking my daughter to the Fulton to see the family series shows. We’re going to Beauty and The Beast in a couple weeks. Never seen opera, but I’d love to!
Wow! I can’t believe that Lancaster is getting such a great exposure to the art and life of Georgia O’Keeffe. My husband and I went to the opening of the O’Keeffe-Demuth show on first Friday where we were delighted to learn of the close relationship between those 2 fine artists.
I would love to see the opera, now that I know of the Lancaster connection to Ms O’Keeffe!
I’m looking forward to enjoying what I know will be a great success for Artistic Director Anne Meeder, who has been a joy and inspiration for many years as Artist in Residence at Brecht Elementary. She is a one-person celebration of the arts in Lancaster!
So excited to see the life of Georgia O’Keeffe right here in Lancaster. Thank you OperaLancaster.
Lancaster is the perfect place for a world premier of what sounds to be a great show!
What a wonderful production. My 10 year old is loves Georgia O’Keeffe and theatre. She would be so thrilled to see this production.
Lancaster is full of the arts. Lancaster is dedicated to the arts and making the arts available to all to enjoy.
I visited Lancaster for the first time in a long time on Saturday and
was so impressed with Gallery Row. I can’t wait to go back and discover more.
Visited the O’Keeffe in NM this spring. Looking forward to this presentation in Lancaster.
